2010 is off to an amazingly good start. I had planned to put in a ton of volume during the first two days of 2010, with my first session beginning minutes after the calendar flipped on Stars, which operates in EST. As of this writing 3AM Sunday morning, I've played 32k hands. I can say one thing for certain: I did not run this hot over a two day period at any point during last year. My Friday results may have been my best single day profit ever, I didn't take the time to check the blog to verify - which was good, because it would have been a waste of time... as on Saturday I had what I know is definitely my single best day ever (~$2150 table winnings + ~$350 FPP value). The only downside was that after putting in 10 hour sessions each of Friday and Saturday, I was feeling mentally fatigued during the last couple hours of my final Saturday session. I guess this is to be expected and definitely happened during my SNE chase last year too. It's been awhile since I've played two super high volume days back to back.
Here's a graph of 2010 so far:
While I most definitely have run very well to start the year, it's highly likely that a few other factors have played into the results:
(1) My focus level has been better.
(2) I've made a minor adjustment to help make my preflop game closer to what I feel is typically optimal at the FR games I play.
Running this well even for even just two days feels especially sweet after how poorly I ran for many stretches during 2009. It also doesn't hurt that Stars released a $150 deposit bonus (yay free money), and I've already picked up $150 from the new "Stellar Rewards" program (essentially mini milestones on the path to regular old Supernova). Add to all that the $950 in FPP value earned thus far (5x multiplier for the win) and you've got a really good start to the new year.
Hopefully I haven't used up all my luckbox's mojo, as I leave in less than 24 hours for the PCA in the Bahamas, where I'll be playing the $10k buy-in Main Event as one of my two SNE tourney packages earned in 2009. The action will be televised live at http://www.eptlive.com. There's no guarantee that I'll get any TV time (it's statistically unlikely), but you never know - maybe I'll go deep or be sat at the feature table. I should be able to update the blog from the Bahamas a few times, though I'm certain there is going to be so much to do at the Atlantis that I could end up forgetting. It's been something like six years since I've been to a true sand and sun beach resort destination so I expect a great time!
Oh, I also should mention that my Fantasy Football squad is in it's league's final playoff round competing for the championship. I need to pull out a big comeback on Sunday (the league has playoff rounds lasting two weeks each), but it definitely could happen. Even if I lose, I'll have turned $450 profit - with a win earning a sweet $900. Here's hoping Maurice Jones-Drew, Andre Johnson, DeSean Jackson, Jamaal Charles, Rashard Mendenhall, and Ben Roethlisberger all have absolute monster games.

Reading your blog is always an inspiration.
Wish I could bring myself to quit my job, so I could do this too.
Hey Jason, could you tell me how much your VPP per hand at NL100 has dropped since the changes this year? Congrats on the heater!! I can't remember what they feel like but they look good in graphs!
VPP per hand at 100NL has dropped a fair amount to start the year for me (~10%) versus my yearly rate year. However, it isn't due to the VPP changes, but instead the games being overpopulated with a lot of new regs/shorstacks (many of which are really bad, but nonetheless reasonably tight). My VPP/hand so far this year under the new system is almost identical to what it would have been under the old formula (at most, a 1-2% decrease). Basically, I wouldn't worry about it - the games will likely improve and when they do the VPP/hand at 100NL should be similar to last year.
