It's 2010 and I finished up my first session of the new year a little over an hour ago. It was fairly positive as though I ran absymally at 100NL there were a lot of good 200NL games and I ran nicely hot there, shipping a total ~$620 in winnings and a sexy $160 FPP value in the 4 hours. The ~$40/hour FPP value from the 5x SNE multiplier is really nice. I've made one adjustment to my game which until it becomes habit is requiring a bit more focus than usual. This is probably a good thing, and I'm hoping the change will be a positive influence in the long run.
I still haven't decided whether or not to pursue SNE again in 2010. I thought it would be best to do two things first: remind myself of what it's like to play heavy volume for a few days, and experience the PCA. Thus, I'll be grinding hard Friday through Sunday, then heading to the Bahamas for the PCA from the 4th through 12th. By the time I get back, I'll have my goals set. I suppose luckboxing a huge payday would make the decision much easier.
New Years Eve was a great night for sports. My girlfriend and I were at the annual Flames/Oilers matchup at the Dome, where the Flames were victorious 2-1. They are now 5-0 against the Oil on the year, with one game remaining. It would be super sick to sweep the battle of Alberta this season, even if the Oilers are a really weak team (granted, somewhat due to injuries). While taking in the Flames game live, the Canadian World Junior squad faced their first big test against Team USA. We managed to see bits on the jumbotron during intermissions, and after witnessing the Canadians down 4-2 early in the 3rd it was a pleasant surprise when during the 2nd intermission they cut to the shootout in which the Canadian were victorious (with Kozun, who both resides and plays his Junior hockey in Calgary, scoring the game winner).
