I believe I've really started to think the game better lately. Over the course of May, aside from making good money I'd like to retool my game a fair bit, applying the theory I've come to understand better in recent weeks to achieve practical results.
With that in mind, here are my goals:
(1) Play 40,000 hands
After last month, I think this should be pretty easy, especially if I can get 12 tables going as per goal (2).
(2) Buy another 22" monitor and start playing 12 tables effectively
Not much to say about this one, I now know I need the hardware, so it's a matter of not being lazy and making this happen.
(3) Post a winrate of > 3.25 BB/100 over the month
As we saw last month, variance can screw us here. That said, I think running average with some tweaks to my game should produce a winrate in excess of 3.25 ptBB/100.
(4) Have a >$4k roll along with the confidence to move up to $100NL in June
I've heard the jump to $100NL isn't bad, and I'm really looking forward to getting there. This is probably my most significant goal for the month. While the $4k roll is necessary, the confidence is perhaps even more so. If I know I'm reliably beating $50NL for a solid winrate, I should be able to bring my A-game to $100NL easily. Once I reach $100NL my poker hobby can become a significant source of income, which is awesome.
(5) Be more aggressive, a three part goal!
Part 1: 3-bet more preflop
I'm certain I cold call too much both in and out of position. It's time to buckle down and put a stop to this. As a result, my PFR should increase by a solid percent. To be more specific, it is not acceptable for me to be calling behind an open raise with AQ - this is a spot where I need to 3-bet or fold, depending on the villain.
Part 2: Bet/fold more instead of check/calling
I've been noticing that regulars at $50NL float a fair bit, but often fold to second barrels. Therefore I should be taking b/f lines on the turn more often with my draws/air, while saving c/c type lines for situations where I have solid showdown value and can potentially induce a river bluff from worse.
Part 3: Raise more
I need to raise more for value on all 3-streets. These spots may be difficult to find, but as my hand reading improves this should become a staple of my game.
Metrics:
Due to Part 1, my preflop PFR should increase to ~10.5+ with my VPIP staying around 14.
Due to Parts 2 and 3, my Flop AF should be slightly over 3, while my turn and river AF should be over 1.5 each.
I guess that's it. I'm excited to be starting a new month, where hopefully I can improve my game and further build my roll.

I can't wait to get my poker on in May. Damn Glencoe is making me work tonnes till I finish on Wed. We definately need to get a training session in soon (and some mario kart too). I'm moving my roll over to stars. I don't know why but I seem to play/run better there and it doesn't freeze up when I have 9+ tables running.
